How I Secure My Tube

This tip shows how I secure the catheter tube to me without the tube touching me. If the tube were touching my skin, it would wear the skin away and create a wound.

Take about a 4-inch piece of paper tape and lay it on the tube at the midpoint of the tape. The tape should be perpendicular to the tube with the sticky side down. I touch the tape to itself and then secure it to me. This creates a standoff that keeps the tube away from my skin.

When you touch the tape to itself, be sure the tape covers itself completely. If there are little pieces of sticky parts showing, things will attach themselves to you and be annoying.
