Humphrey’s Postumous Mews

Mom adopted me in March of 2013, three weeks before my fourth birthday. Since I was a kitten I lived at 9th Life Hawaii, the non-profit No Kill Cat Rescue & Sanctuary. Other people had wanted to take me home, but I recognized Mom as a courageous lady and someone I wanted to protect. We lived alone together in Pukalani on Maui for 8 1/2 years until she had to move into the care facility. Then I moved into her mom's condo in Honolulu. I'd rather be outside, but Mom told me this would happen, and there are lots of big windows where I am, so that's okay.

I visited Mom two or three times a week and we always wanted to live together again, but that did not happen. After I turned 15 1/2, I developed kidney disease and then got a fever and infection and never recovered. After I stopped eating, she had a vet from Arms of Aloha come and give me my final shot. I died very peacefully laying on mom and although she cannot pet me, I am with her always.

Reunited, Thanksgiving 2022

Some context: Humphrey and I have been separated for about 16 months. I have finally moved to Oʻahu and this is the first time Humphrey and I are seeing each other in person. Okay, you can start the video.

Stop Bothering Me

Apparently she doesn't realize that mom couldn't care less about me meowing on command. She's going to keep asking so here's a meow to satisfy her. Happy? Okay, I will let you know when I need you.
