Setting up the iPad Pro - April 29-May 5/24

Monday, April 29th

Now that the 5G Wi-Fi was set up, I was ready for my brand spanking new iPad Pro! I had ordered the case last week and mom received it, so it was all dressed up when it got here! Damn that thing is big! It was a bit overwhelming when I first saw it. I said as much to my sister on the phone that night and she said, Well, we could get you a regular-sized iPad if you would prefer… no no I exclaimed! Let me just work with it a few days and I'm sure I will fall in love with it. M loaded up all the apps onto the iPad, which was very very helpful. I have been using it or watching it every day and it is a dream. It's so big, but it has voice control, which allows me to control everything with my voice. This is the kind of stuff Apple is really good at.

Tuesday, April 30th

The beginning of this week was very crunched. I got the weekly blog done Sunday Night. Then I needed to finish up the present and rewrite the essay that I accidentally deleted. At first, I tried to re-create it from what I remembered and then I stopped and told myself just write it from scratch again. You wrote it once, it's in you. Just trust yourself and write it again. J would be here and I wanted to read her as much as I could. I woke up early so I started writing and I finished the entire essay by the time she arrived! Yippee!! I also got the present done so I felt very good indeed.

Wednesday, May 1st

I was so glad that I got all my work done, I just lay in bed and watched stuff, played my puzzle game on the new iPad and lazed around all day. Isn't that what I do most days? Not since I gave myself a bunch of writing deadlines. You're usually so glad when you get out of school and don't have to do homework anymore. I have given myself homework! Yikes! And I like it, that's the scary part. Actually, that's how you know you are doing what you should. Lucky me. It only took getting reduced to this…

Thursday, May 2nd

I had an interesting session with A and mom. I told her about the pill saga and she emphasized that along with the supplements, movement was also necessary. As she was talking, I realized that I think this is one of those times when I have to try harder than I am. I am relying a little bit too much on the pills to do everything I need to keep me healthy. They are an important part of it, but movement is essential as well. I need to make more effort there.

Saturday, May 4th

I very much appreciate E bringing Humphrey to me today. It's fun to hang out with him and talk about fellow high school classmates. I am especially glad he could bring H today, as my sister got a migraine. So she didn't get here until later, as she had to lay down in the dark for a while. Even when she was able to come, she could not stay very long as the pain started rearing its ugly head again. She did bring food from WF. I guess the guy at the counter knew my sister from previous visits, as the serving sizes were enormous! Yeah!

A very odd and somewhat disgusting thing happened to me tonight. I was all tucked into bed with my right hand in its nighttime brace, when I felt a tiny sting under the nail of my pinky finger. Try as I might, I could not move my finger or my hand to shoo away whatever creature was biting me. As I did not stop him, he was emboldened to chomp even harder on the tender flesh under my fingernail. I pressed my call button and as he continued to bite, I started to say ow very loudly. My CNA came in and I directed her to my right hand. She looked down and killed the offending critter. When she told me it was a cockroach, I was a little amazed. So among the things that will eat you when you die, add cockroaches, although they will be very slow and take very teeny bites. UGG. I hope that doesn't happen again.

Sunday, May 5th

I am writing this Sunday night and even so, I am struggling to remember what happened today. Not a memorable day. I had to really force myself to write down the last few days entries so I did not leave it yet another night. I am leaving out my adventures with suppositories, as I will make that one long article you can either choose to read or slowly walk away from. I find it interesting but that's me. That will definitely have a clever title. Something like, let's talk about all this crap. You get the idea. Anyway, it's another Humphrey day tomorrow.

Enjoy your week!
