Last Saturday, my sister brought Humphrey over for a nice long visit. My mom and M usually bring Humphrey on Mondays after lunch. M is my mom's best friend's son, who is my age. We have now gotten to be friends, and he has a cat himself, so he understands the importance of H. Mom needs help carrying the cat carrier. She is also not completely confident about loading and unloading H into the carrier. She is allowed at her age to need help, and I'm glad she found it. Unfortunately, M is only free on Mondays and has a bad back, so cannot stay for much longer than 3 hours. I am very lucky that my sister sympathizes and can bring H for a longer visit. She came at 2:00 p.m. and left at at 6:00 p.m. Four whole hours!! What luxury is this? I'm not being sarcastic. It is always amazing to feel H's warm body leaning against me.
When he first started visiting me, he had to get used to wearing a harness. That was never an issue. Wasn't bothered by it in the least. He didn't like the first car ride to the hospital, but once he realized mom was at the end of it, he endured the ride silently. My Mom was nervous he would jump off the bed, but I knew he would be so thrilled to be lying next to me that he would have no interest in going anywhere else. And that is exactly what happened. He would have to get bored of lying next to me before he would start exploring. Since he only has a few hours a week next to me, that will never happen as long as I am living here.
