Monday, April 1st
In keeping with our wish to laugh, we watched an early Steve Martin classic, "The Jerk”. Extremely funny! Silly and goofy but funny. It's only an hour and a half and we stopped after an hour as it was Time for everyone to go and I had bought the movie instead of renting it. So we can just start where we left off.
Tuesday, April 2nd
I really like J who visits me every Tuesday and gives me an all-over body massage. It's great for my body and we talk about the essay I am working on for my website. And we watch or listen to stand-up comedy. I definitely played her Steve Martin’s first three Comedy albums that came out when I was teenager so I was glued to them! That explains my love of the movie from yesterday.
Wednesday, April 3rd
I had a phone appointment with my nutritionist, MLR. I have been working with her since right after my Brain surgery in 1996. There have been a few breaks but I have always come back to her because her supplements are the only thing thing I have found to be effective in slowing the progress of the MS. It has been long enough now that I can look back and see when I was taking them and when I wasn't and the worst things always happen am when I was not on the supplements. They are expensive and I used to be in charge of my money and now I am not and it is a big bone of contention. It's all a learning process, right?
Friday, April 5th
I had been noticing small but very telltale signs of a growing UTI even though I was on an antibiotic since Saturday Night. They had taken a urine sample but for some reason the UA had never been done. This had happened to me before and the antibiotic had changed to more effectively destroy the bacteria. I thought that's what needed to be done now. I argued with the nurse about this. The antibiotics would be finished Saturday morning so we would talk again tomorrow.
I had told the floor nurse that I had a picture I wanted to put on the wall. There were some maintenance people working down the hall and she grabbed two of them because they needed to work on the ladder. So my Picture of Humphrey by my mom’s Best friend [who's son is M, who helps mom bring Humphrey to me) is hanging up on the wall! Excellent!
Saturday, April 6th
My sister brought yummy food and we hung out for a while. She made a mini angel food cake from gluten-free flour. It seemed indistinguishable from a regular angel food cake and was actually quite delicious! We also took care of a few things I needed to get done. I had actually made a list! I am looking forward to getting an iPad but I am not looking forward to watching things on it. The Samsung galaxy S7 tablet I have now is much wider than an iPad, specifically because it allows a better aspect ratio for watching movies. I like watching things letterboxed and it will be interesting to compare what a movie looks like on my Samsung tablet as compared to the iPad. Watch for it.
Sunday, April 7th
One of the things I have not been able to get my iPhone to do out of the box is put quote TH quote or whatever at the end of the dates you see above. They are so good at interpreting my voice, I don't know why they can't hear me say that. I'm sure there is a setting that can change that. If anyone knows what that setting is, please let me know.
I have also left some of the oddities voice-to-text and decided to write as is. I am writing the whole week on Sunday, so I am sure I am forgetting things and I don't want to take the time to correct everything. That's how good apple's voice-to-text is. I have made very few corrections to this entire week. It has forced capitalization for odd words. As you may have noticed, it did not capitalize Apple a couple of sentences ago. Oh, it just did! I guess it did not hear say the possessive, it thought it was the plural. I will figure that out. This is really the first time I am writing this way. It really is much easier.
I got a solid eight hours of sleep last night. That felt so good! I had my first shower in a week and I had hot water for the entire shower! It was almost too hot, but I was not about to complain. The last two showers, the hot water has been very spotty so I guess the hot water wanted to make it up to me. I did not get my Wednesday shower as there were not enough CNA's on hand to allow Time for mine. (there it is, why is time in Caps?)
I know I had some interesting thoughts I would have liked to have shared, but none that I could remember now.
