My Blog

This is a journal of my day-to-day activities. While I may vent at times, I am in a wonderful facility with caring professionals who take good care of me. I will keep things anonymous, as most of my experiences can happen anywhere.

“The Skinny” - 3/10-16/25

Mom and M help me reattach the picture of my Maui church that had fallen off the wall. The picture was small and weighed nothing and we were using Command Strips to attach things so we could remove them without damaging the wall. M did not like the idea of using the command strip for some reason, so he cut the one long strip into four small squares that he put in each corner of the picture. “Flow” - 3/3-9/25

As of August, 2023, it has been less than a year since I left Maui, my home of nearly 17 years. Upcountry, where I used to live, experienced wildfires this August, but the massive West Maui fires have torn through over 1500 acres, and prompted over 1,277 evacuations in Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kahana and surrounding communities.

A Cup of Cold Water is a charity started by the four Episcopal churches in Maui, one of which was destroyed. The charity has been in existence since 2013 and has been on the front lines of the recovery effort.

9th Life Hawaii is the cat sanctuary where I adopted Humphrey. I know they are doing everything they can to help. If you are able, please consider donating to one of these charities.
